A group called the Rails to Trails Conservancy has proposed a major change to East 33rd Street between Lake Montebello to Charles Street.
There are two alternatives being proposed where only one will be ultimately chosen.
Alternative One: A mixed-use pedestrian and bicycle trail that will be implemented in the 40 foot median along the entire stretch of 33rd Street, this alternative will keep the existing trees in the median of East 33rd Street.
Alternative Two: Two-way protected bike lane in westbound section of 33rd Street where one lane of parking and one lane of vehicular traffic will be removed completely for the bike lane.
The design team is seeking public input via email [email protected]
